Every year around the end of August, Auburn Japanese Gardens hosts a cherry blossom festival. This year was no different - I went on the 3rd September and flowers were beautiful. This year though, I went later in the afternoon, around 3pm, so there were less people compared to last year when I went in the morning.
In Japan, cherry blossom season is usually end of March to April, and streets would be lined with cherry blossom trees, possibly just like how streets are lined with jacaranda trees in Sydney. Cherry blossom, however, are quite rare in Sydney. I have spotted plum blossom plants in my neighbourhood, but never cherry blossoms. Even in the Auburn Japanese Gardens, most trees were actually plum blossoms - there were only several cherry blossom trees. Nevertheless, the scenery was very beautiful.
